Art Work Exeter is convening The Considerate Society, six artist and community-led gatherings which are taking place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June at Exeter Custom House.
The gatherings have been developed in collaboration with Art Work Exeter’s Cultural Knowledge Exchange group and designed around themes developed during Art Work Exeter’s three-year residency at the custom house.
The include a mix of drop-in and ticketed events:
- The Listening Room
- The Welcome Committee
- Solidaritea
- A Cut Up Cabaret
- Views from the Veranda
- A Custom Made Conversation.

Art Work Exeter began its “cultural partners” tenure at Exeter Custom House in 2023 with a co-produced installation, The Legend of the Custom House and continued with projects including The Real Onedin Line, River Radio and The Exchange.
An exhibition of video, sculpture, sound works and photography from its three-year residency will be on display at the custom house from Tuesday 2 to Sunday 28 June.
The cultural partnership programme was supported by Exeter Canal and Quay Trust and has now been discontinued.
