Exeter City of Literature’s annual book market returns for its sixth year on Sunday 7 June in a new location at Exeter Quay.
This year’s event features independent booksellers from across the county including Bookbag, The Bookery, Design For Today, The Old Queeriosity Shop and Seven Fables.
There will be talks by Ashley Hickson-Lovence, Erica Hekseth and Fiona Benson among others, with stalls selling food, drink and handmade goods.

Exeter City of Literature is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities network and is one of 79 UNESCO cities of literature worldwide, of which six are in the UK.
An independent charity since 2021, it collaborates with cultural organisations and communities on a range of creative programmes.
Projects include a Silent Book Club, The Book Fairies, City Slam, a local literary map and a campaign to supply books to Warm Spaces in Devon.
Exeter was awarded city of literature status in 2019.
The Exeter City of Literature book market takes place from 11am-4pm on Sunday 7 June 2026 at Exeter Quay. It is free to attend.
