A series of evening events are taking place in and around Gandy Street on the first Thursday of each month from June to September.
Boston Tea Party is hosting an indoor market curated by Circular Social for the first event on 4 June, when many of Gandy Street’s shops will stay open late, including Maker Mart, which is holding a “meet the maker” event
Other events include a creative writing panel hosted by the Royal Literary Fund at Exeter Library, dance demonstrations at Exeter Phoenix and live music and cream teas in the RAMM garden.
There will also be live music, jugglers, face painting, pop-up talks and Pilates demonstrations.
Food and drink will be available from Red Panda, Pixy’s, Chococo and Exeter Phoenix, with cocktails from Coolings, The Mermaid and The Cocktail Club.

First Thursdays is co-ordinated by InExeter, the Business Improvement District for Exeter.
The event was suggested by local resident Stephen Fisher after seeing the idea in action at the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll and First Friday in Philadelphia.
First Thursdays take place from 5-8pm, beginning on 4 June and continuing on 2 July, 6 August and 3 September 2026.
