Play Interact Explore

Theatre Alibi hosts an interactive exhibition suitable for all ages created by artists Leap then Look.

Leigh Curtis

Theatre Alibi is hosting an interactive tactile exhibition suitable for all ages from Saturday 4 October to Sunday 2 November at Emmanuel Hall.

Play Interact Explore was developed by artists Leap Then Look in conjunction with four community groups in Eastbourne and Brighton.

It offers a sculptural environment for people to explore and rearrange, experimentally interacting with a variety of objects and assemblages.

Special sessions include early years mornings, when kids go free, and afternoons designed for home educating families who would like to use the installation to support learning around art, design, technology or story-making.

The installation has toured venues around the country including the National Gallery in London, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead and Tramway arts centre in Glasgow.

Leap Then Look uses sculpture, photography, film, performance and installation to create interactive, participatory art works and run workshops and events.

Founded by artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie in 2019, the company works with people from range of backgrounds and ages as well as arts institutions, universities and schools.

Emmanuel Hall has been the permanent home of Theatre Alibi since 1982. As well as hosting performances for children and families, the venue has become the temporary home of St Thomas Library.

Theatre Alibi has been producing work for young audiences for over 30 years. It hosts events including craft sessions, performances, interactive exhibitions and workshops in local schools.

Democracy doesn't work when people don't know

Public interest news that holds power and influence to account is more important now than it has ever been.

Democracy doesn't work when people don't know who is deciding what on whose behalf and what the costs and consequences of those decisions will be.

Exeter Observer was built to deliver the independent investigative journalism our local democracy needs.

It exists because people who think what we do matters and are willing to chip in each month to help cover our costs.

We need more of our readers to contribute like this so we can keep producing and publishing our essential reporting.

127 of the 300 paying subscribers we need have signed up so far. Join them today to help us reach our goal, if you haven't already.

If you value the work we do please upgrade to a paid Exeter Observer subscription. It's a small investment for a very big return.
