Two Moors Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary with twelve days of talks, workshops and chamber music performances from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 12 October.
The annual chamber music festival is this year presenting twenty-one events at fifteen venues on Dartmoor, Exmoor and surrounding settlements including Ashburton, Okehampton and Exeter.
Performance highlights include English songs with soprano Elizabeth Watts and pianist Julius Drake, pieces by Liszt, Chopin and Rachmaninov played by pianist Tianxu An and a performance of Schubert’s Trout Quintet.
London’s National Opera Studio will perform arias by Mozart, Strauss, Handel, Bizet and Verdi and United Strings of Europe will premiere a piece by Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür.
Workshops include singing for all ages with vocal ensemble APPOLLO5 and nature writing with Amy-Jane Beer.
The festival programme also features talks about churches and farms on Exmoor and a reading of Ted Hughes’ poetry by his wife Carol Hughes.
