Pint of Science returns to Exeter for a festival of talks, demonstrations and live experiments by research scientists in city centre pubs from Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 May.
Three events will take place from 7pm each day at The White Hart, The Bootlegger and City Gate.
The festival opens with talks on the relationships between food and body image at The White Hart, aging and regeneration at The Bootlegger and the use of robotics in cancer treatment at City Gate.
On Tuesday evening, The White Hart will host a talk on the concepts of play, productivity and gender identity, while research scientists discuss genetic sequencing and equality in healthcare at The Bootlegger and animal ecology, conversation and zoology at City Gate.
The festival will conclude on Wednesday with talks on neurogenerative diseases at The White Hart, diabetes at The Bootlegger and insect adaptation at City Gate.
Pint of Science was started in 2013 by Dr Praveen Paul and Dr Michael Motskin of Imperial College London. It has since expanded to nearly 500 cities worldwide.
This year events are being held in 42 UK cities and 27 countries including Brazil, India and the US.
Pint of Science takes place in Exeter from Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 May 2025 at The White Hart in South Street, The Bootlegger in Fore Street and City Gate beside Iron Bridge.
Doors open at 6.30pm for each event with talks from 7-9pm. Tickets cost £5.
