Isca Ensemble and Isca Ensemble Chorus are performing a programme of classics by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák on Saturday 10 May at Exeter Cathedral.

The programme includes Czech Suite Op. 39, which incorporates evocations of Czech folk dance in five movements, and Stabat Mater Op. 58, Dvořák’s ten-movement setting of a 13th century Christian hymn to the Virgin Mary.

This piece, which became an international success, was first performed in Prague near Dvořák’s birthplace.
