Isca Ensemble and chorus perform a programme by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.

Isca Ensemble and Isca Ensemble Chorus are performing a programme of classics by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák on Saturday 10 May at Exeter Cathedral.

The programme includes Czech Suite Op. 39, which incorporates evocations of Czech folk dance in five movements, and Stabat Mater Op. 58, Dvořák’s ten-movement setting of a 13th century Christian hymn to the Virgin Mary.

This piece, which became an international success, was first performed in Prague near Dvořák’s birthplace.

Isca Ensemble is comprised of more than 65 experienced amateur and some former professional players from across the South West of England.

It is directed by Roger Hendy, led by Antony Clements and often features national and international soloists.

Choral soloists for this performance are soprano Amy Carson, mezzo soprano Maria Brown, tenor Michael Graham and bass Tim Mirfin.

Czech Classics takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday 10 May 2025 at Exeter Cathedral.

Tickets cost from £16-£26, with reductions for students under 18 years old, and can be bought from the Ticketsource website.

Any remaining tickets will be available on the door from 6.45pm.

There will be a collection to support Hospiscare after the performance.
