Exeter Local History Society is hosting a one-day book festival featuring talks from Devon historians on Saturday 1 February at Mint Methodist Church Centre.
The event opens with Professor Mark Stoyle speaking about his book Witchcraft in Exeter, 1558-1660.
He is followed by Dr Todd Gray, author of dozens of books including two titles published last year about the history of the British empire in Exeter.
In the afternoon John Allan will speak about The Cloisters of Exeter Cathedral and Dr Richard Batten about A Loyal and Faithful City? Exeter during the Great War.
There will also be stalls from Exeter heritage bodies and the featured books will be available for sale on the day.
Exeter Local History Society holds regular monthly meetings and hosts several lectures each year which cover a wide range of subjects from the city’s Roman remains to its post-war development.
The Exeter History Book Festival takes place on Saturday 1 February 2025 at Mint Methodist Church Centre in Fore Street. Registration is at 9.30am for a 10.25am start.
Tickets costs £10 plus £1 booking fee. Visit the Exeter Local History Society website for more information and to book.
