The Four Seasons & The Lark Ascending

An evening of classical music by candlelight performed by London Concertante.

Exeter Cathedral is hosting an evening of classical music by candlelight performed by London Concertante on Friday 8th November.

The programme includes the overture from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

Led by cellist Chris Grist, London Concertante plays classical chamber as well as gypsy and Latin American music.

The ensemble, formed in 1991, performs dozens of concerts each year in the UK and Ireland at venues including the Southbank Centre, Southwark Cathedral, St. James’ Piccadilly, Cadogan Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields.

It has also toured in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands and the USA.

Exeter Cathedral, properly known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter, is a medieval Anglican church and the seat of the Bishop of Exeter.

The current building was completed around 1400.

The Four Seasons & The Lark Ascending by Candlelight begins at 7.30pm on Friday 8 November 2024 at Exeter Cathedral.

Tickets cost from from £21-£46 plus booking fees and can be bought from the London Concertante website.
