Student block proposed on Clifton Road site with residential permission

Plans for a purpose built student accommodation block in a Clifton Road car park have been submitted to Exeter City Council for approval.

A three-storey building containing six flats would be constructed in the car park beside the former Globe Inn in the heart of Newtown.

The pub, which closed in July 2019, became a children’s home run by private provider Central & Southern Homes in 2020.

The same applicant was refused permission for five flats in the car park in June 2021, then received approval for two three-storey residential dwellings on the site in November 2022.
