Healthwatch Devon has published its 2023-24 annual report. The report includes reviews of emergency departments, adult social care and patient experiences of pharmacy services, which identified serious issues with obtaining repeat prescriptions.
It collects feedback from health and social care service users across the county which it uses to make recommendations to local public health commissioning bodies.
During 2023-24 it received £560,000 in local authority funding. It employs fifteen staff who collated feedback from 3,395 people and issued advice to 620 people.
Healthwatch Devon is jointly commissioned by Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and Torbay Council.
It is part of Healthwatch England, a national statutory committee of the Care Quality Commission, an independent sector regulator.
