Devon County Council has agreed a formal working arrangement with a county-wide network of voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations.
The “civic agreement” between Torbay, Plymouth and Devon Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Assembly and the county council will introduce regular meetings in what is being described as an “equal strategic partnership”.
The organisations will set out “shared strategic priorities, principles and ways of working” and host joint sessions with elected councillors.
The network is comprised of more than 250 independent VCSE organisations and 60 public sector organisations. It meets each month and addresses “co-design of services, policy development, co-commissioning and joint leadership and decision-making”.
