Exeter Co-op Community is hosting a fair and fundraiser for Co-op Fortnight outside the Co-op store on Cowick Street on Sunday 22 June.

The event will feature stalls, activities, giveaways, cake and a fundraiser for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

Theatre Alibi, disability charity Sense, Exeter Hindu Cultural Centre and Co Create are all also contributing to the event.

Co-op Fortnight was launched in 2010 by Co-operatives UK to promote the co-operative model and its potential.

Based in Manchester, the Co-operative Group is a retail co-operative which provides legal services, funerals, insurance and more than 2,400 grocery stores.

It employs community engagers to forge relationships with local communities across the country, two of whom cover Exeter and work with charities supported by the Co-op Local Community Fund.

Other co-operative enterprises in Exeter include Exeter Grower’s Co-operative, Exeter Community Energy and Exeter Observer.
