Exeter City of Literature event features independent booksellers from across the county plus literary activities, food and drink and more.

The Exeter City of Literature book market returns for its fourth year on Sunday 9 June to its now-permanent home in Cathedral Green.

The event features independent bookshops from across the county including Bookbag, First Draft Books, Oxfam Books & Music, The Ivybridge Bookshop, Graham York Rare Books and Seven Fables.

There will also be stalls selling food, drink and handmade items plus arts and literary activities.

Exeter City of Literature is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities network and one of 53 UNESCO Cities of Literature worldwide.

An independent charity since 2021, it collaborates with cultural organisations and local communities on a range of creative programmes.

Projects include a Little Free Library at Exeter bus station, a local literary map and a campaign to supply books to Warm Spaces in Devon.

Exeter was awarded city of literature status in 2019.
