Three day festival presents talks by Exeter research scientists in three city centre pubs.

Pint of Science is presenting three days of talks by Exeter research scientists in three city centre pubs from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 May. Each evening there will be three or more talks covering each of three research themes.

Starting at The Turk’s Head, the festival opens with scientists speaking about their research into criminology and technology, artificial intelligence and DNA and artificial intelligence.

On Tuesday evening, The Bootlegger is hosting talks on microbes, Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes, eating disorders and psychedelics

The Mermaid will host the final, climate-focussed event, which will feature research on peatlands, biodiversity and agroforestry and data innovation.

Started in 2013 by Praveen Paul and Michael Motskin of Imperial College London, Pint of Science has since become a global festival.

This year events are being held in 41 UK cities and in 24 other countries including Germany, Sweden, France, Brazil, Thailand, Kenya and the US.

Pint of Science takes place in Exeter from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 May 2024 at The Turk’s Head, The Bootlegger and The Mermaid.

Doors open at 6.30pm for each event with talks from 7-9.30pm. Tickets cost £5.
